FOR THE PARENTS

Our PTA works to support the school both as an institute of education and as an agent of change.  To do this we need your help.  We want to see you at school-wide events and hear your voice at parent-teacher circles and meetings.  Today, though, we are asking you to consider donating to the PTA to help support the school.

The focus of the PSC PTA is not primarily on fundraising.  This appeal is the only request for money that we intend to direct to families this year.  Just as building an anti-racist school community requires a deliberate effort to live out this principle on the part of each of its members, we’d like to invite ALL families to contribute some amount of money to the school in the coming weeks.  We hope to receive a money donation from every family.  Any amount you can give, from $5 to $500 and up, will allow us to do more for every student at the school.

Funds raised by the PSC PTA support ALL students at PSC. The PTA:

​

• Provides grants to teachers (on a first come, first served basis) for activities that benefit either a full grade or club, and provides seed funding for Donors Choose campaigns.

• Supports theatrical and musical performances and school-wide events.

• Ensures that step-up and graduation activities are affordable to all.

• Sends high school students of college tours.  Each grade visits at least one campus!

• Funds three scholarships for graduating high school students. 

• Provides food for clubs and activities that keep students at school through dinner.

• Hires translation professionals for meetings and events so that all parents may participate.

We hope to continue these activities and do more in the coming year.  An enthusiastic response to this appeal will ensure that we can.
