Support Our Principal

In early March 2017, Principal Jill Bloomberg was informed by the Department of Education (DOE) that she is under investigation. She hasn’t been formally charged, nor has she been told what she is suspected of doing. She also hasn’t been told when she would find out more. In keeping with her open and candid nature, Jill wanted the PSC community to know what was going on. This investigation was prompted by a complaint that someone, whose identity isn’t known, lodged against her. Jill has never shied away from advocating for students by calling out DOE policies and actions that are racist and divisive, and word of this investigation arrived just as our school had been challenging the Public Schools Athletic League and the DOE about the inequity of sports teams in our building. Current and alumni parents are joining together to declare in no uncertain terms that we’re behind Jill completely, believe this investigation to be baseless, and deplore not only the lack of transparency on the part of the DOE but the undeniable retaliatory appearance of this action.
